Adele McGranahan was born to terribly normal parents and had a terribly normal childhood in the suburbs of chicago. She attended good schools, scraped out decent grades, was overall genial if a bit spoiled by advent of being an only child. Everything changed when she was 15. Bonfire parties weren't anything unusual, and when she was invited to one in the middle of March, the 21st to be precise, there was no question of her attendance. She'd wonder later why she followed her friends into the woods leaving the safety of the roaring fire, how she'd become separated from them, but all she remembered was hearing wolves, and then, a pair of bright eyes on a wolf larger than she'd ever seen in her life. Three days of absolute agony later and she'd changed, but the pack had gone. No one quite explained how one was supposed to make it through their high school years and college when you had strange urges to go running through the woods...when you wanted to eat raw meat...when you wanted to hunt. She learned most of it on her own. Of course, Adele's sure there are others of her kind - there had to be, to turn her into this, but she's a rouge, packless, though far from helpless. She exists now holding a roughly steady job as a photographer for the Tribune, something that gives her time to indulge in the other half of her existence... |
